Cordes Rêvent
L’ensemble Des Equilibres
vous propose son programme
Cordes Rêvent en trio violon,
violoncelle et harpe.
The project brings together three artists whose sensitivity and exacting standards complement each other: Agnès Pyka on violin, Jordan Costard on cello, and Marcel Cara on harp. Their encounter gives rise to a unique trio, where the colors of the bowed strings intertwine with the crystalline resonance of the harp to create a soundscape of great finesse. At the heart of this program is Henriette Renié’s Trio, a rare and masterful work that reveals the full expressive potential of this atypical ensemble. Renié deploys a language that is at once refined, intensely lyrical, and subtly virtuosic, allowing the performers to showcase their rapport and nuanced range.
Alongside this masterpiece, two new works by composer Claire Mélanie Sinnbuber enrich the project. Written specifically for these three musicians, they explore contemporary sonic territories while maintaining a profound attention to instrumental texture and collective listening. Sinnbuber offers a meticulously crafted style, playing on breath, echo, vibration, and the interplay of timbres. Her pieces open a poetic dialogue with Renié’s world: past and present respond to, question, and complement each other, offering the audience a coherent journey where each work illuminates the others in a new light.
Agnès Pyka, whose playing combines precision, intensity, and elegance, carries the melody with a constantly evolving sensitivity. Jordan Costard, on cello, unfolds a deep and warm sound, blending power and delicacy. Marcel Cara, a harpist with a refined touch,
brings a luminous and orchestral dimension that expands the trio’s sound. Together, they
form a vibrant, attentive, and inventive entity, capable of moving from the intimate to the flamboyant with great naturalness.
This program was conceived for an audience sensitive to subtle balances, the precision of artistic expression, and the dialogue between tradition and modernity. The collaboration between Renié and Sinnhuber highlights the richness of French musical creation and the unique voices of these three performers, offering an immersive, elegant, and profoundly human listening experience. This concert is an invitation to discover a suspended moment where three instrumental voices unite their imaginations to create a bridge between cultures and celebrate the poetic power of music.

CONCERT DATES
The album, released by Klarthe
We have worked regularly with the harp since the ensemble was founded in 2006. This fascinating instrument has always seemed to us to hold great sonic potential for contemporary aesthetics. It was our encounter with the contemporary composer Claire-Mélanie Sinnhuber that made it possible to bring this commissioning and recording project to life, featuring two works: Héliotrope and Renouée des oiseaux.
Her writing—so refined and precise—draws us into a dreamlike world in which the harp surrounds and embraces the delicate, pointillistic texture of the strings. The flowers that inspire her, always wild and deeply connected to time—such as the “lady of eleven o’clock” or the heliotrope—open and close at the same hour, in harmony with the movement of the sun.
At the same time, we discovered a forgotten masterpiece: the trio by Henriette Renié. A remarkable harpist, composer, soloist, and teacher, she played a crucial role in the development of the harp and its technique, helping to establish it as the solo instrument we know today. Beyond the striking beauty of this work, she paved the way for future generations by asserting herself as both composer and performer at a time—the late 19th century—when such paths were largely inaccessible to women.
One can only regret, in light of this masterpiece, that much of her repertoire has been lost, reflecting the limited recognition given at the time to works by women composers. Two women, two eras, two singular destinies are brought into dialogue in this album.
